It’s not enough that you are financially stable when you grow old. There are still some things you need to start doing now, especially the ones that would help your body cope up with old age better. Here are some things you should start doing while you are young:
1. Maintain regular blood sugar levels. It’s something that many people overlook right now by letting their sweet cravings get the best of them. Instead of being a slave to the food you eat, try a diet consisting of low sugar to avoid spiking glucose levels.
2. Keep wrinkle-free skin. As long as you eat healthy, there won’t be any problems on keeping your skin wrinkle-free. That is of course when you pair healthy, hydrating fruits and vegetables with proper rest.
3. Maintain strong hair. Don’t you want to retain your thick hair when you are already in your fifties? Granted, it might start to look grey, but thinning hair is something you can avoid by making sure that you are not prone to hair fall. One effective trick is using coconut oil as conditioner to strengthen hair strands.
4. Have strong bones and joints. Inflammation is a common occurrence in people who are already starting to age. Arthritis is another common complaint. Thankfully, you could do something to prevent these from robbing you of the ability to walk and remain upright. All you need are herbal remedies such as ginger.
5. Retain healthy liver and kidneys. Liver and kidneys both deal with toxins in the body, and when you are drinking alcohol, eating fatty foods, and drinking chemically-enhanced medication, these organs take the fall. To make sure that your liver and kidneys are healthy, cleanse your body with beverages such as lemon water and green tea.
6. Take care of your heart. The heart is the most important organ in the body. Without a healthy heart you will experience problems getting nutrients and breathing. Your life would never be the same. Many old people have heart problems, so while you are young you should take lots of omega-3 fatty acids to improve your cardiovascular strength.
